The equine herd at Star. Rose Ranch

DakotaThis is Dakota,
our herd alpha
mare.
rescued from a slaughterhouse,
she came to live with us because Kim was
the only person able to gain her trust & cooperation.

intelligent & A
beautiful mover,
her type has been evaluated as
Spanish Mustang.
After wishing for a horse
for 27 years, Kim found Starla,
a Peruvian Paso.
Starla's breeder left her in a drylot pasture to starve before she was rescued, so she is small but spirited. Starla is smooth to ride with incredible agility.
She is pair bond to Dakota & helps rule the pasture.

Rose Rose is Paul's trail horse.
She is an Anglo Arabian.

When first purchased,
she was also ridden
by our daughter, Nicole.
Nicole & Rose won many ribbons while showing in English,  hunter & Western classes.

Rose was previously a chronic bucking horse that couldn't be  tied & was terrified of sheep.

All that has changed now that she has
a permanent home
 with people that she trusts.
Rose is now a very mellow mare without vices.
She is sometimes seen mutual grooming with Starla,
but is pair bond with HT.

This is HT, handled here
by Nicole's son, Isaiah.
He is a Polish Arabian gelding registered as "Honky Tonk Man".
HT loves attention , is almost bombproof and has a babysitter
       attitude with his riders.
HT & Kim were in the Parelli
Natural
Horsemanship program
         & passed their Level 1.
