Being of Italian descent, Paul loves olive oil flavorful enough
for dipping into, with chunks of crusty
bread.
He planted our olive trees to
produce his own fresh and savory oil.
We have been told that our scenery
looks a bit like Tuscany. That may
be true... the olive trees thrive here, naturally producing a bounty of
olives.
The trees include Italian varietals Frantoio, Leccino, and Grignan,
the California/ Italian hybrid, Lucca
& a few French Picholine.
These trees also function as shade & windbreak to our pastures
and provide habitat to quail,
pheasant, rabbits and other wildlife.
On November 28, 2010, this year's crop of olives were hand picked by our
family & friends.
The next day, the olives were taken to Yolo Press, a local organic mill.
The result is our own "Mediterranean Blend". This extra virgin oil is
always cool, unfiltered and contains healthy antioxidants and polyphenols.
We bottle and label this oil by hand, this
is truly a labor of love.
We share a limited amount of this bounty
each year,
by offering our family grown, extra virgin olive oil for sale.
Our bottles are made from recycled glass & may be reused
for decorative purposes.
