St. Croix Hair Sheep

St. Croix Hair Sheep
In December 2010, four registered St. croix Sheep arrived at our ranch.
The ram and bred ewe lambs are from Howling Oak Ranch, in Dunnigan, CA.
sheep are part of our rotational grazing system.

They eat some of the weeds and plants that the other livestock
leave behind, or shouldn't eat.
I usually choose multipurpose breeds for the ranch,
but these sheep are an exception.
I wanted Hair sheep because their meat is much milder
and better tasting than wool breeds.
I choose the St. Croix breed because they are hardy, easy to care for, and in need of conservation, according to the ALBC.
Ewe

ram lamb Our first lamb was born on March 14, 2011.
The ewe showed us what a good mother St. Croix sheep can be.

We will have lambs for sale. Contact us for information.
